Wednesday 07.05.2014.

An Old Dublin themed cocktail bar has been opened on the first floor of the “Fade Street Social” restaurant by Dylan McGrath.  On the opening evening among the invited guests well know Dublin Street characters mingled.  There was a member of one of the infamous animal gangs,  Harry Mushatt was also present he who set up his “chemist” shop in Dublin's poorest tenement area.  There was even a Lady from the notorious “Monto” district.

The Cocktail Menu read of many well-known Character’s from Dublin in the Rare aul Times.  The Monto, Bang Bang, Strumpet City and many more Dublin memories are included in the ingredients of the carefully crafted cocktails list.

The décor in the bar is tastefully created with the Aul Dublin theme followed through with photographs adorning the walls of staff members  dressed in period costume.  Alighting up some steps takes you to another level bringing you to a rooftop bar overlooking the Dublin skyline.

This new Cocktail bar has been inspired by the great interest presently in the history of our City. We now have a better understanding of the life in Old Dublin Town thanks in some way to the release of the 1901/1911 census records.
