Sightseeing Buses have arrived at Teeling's Whiskey Distillery in Newmarket.
Monday 20th July 2015.
After many weeks of waiting at the Teeling Distillery the first Dublin Sightseeing Bus arrived at 9.55 am this morning. The Green Bus was privileged to be the first bus to service the Teeling Whiskey visitor centre in the heart of the Liberties in Newmarket Dublin. This of course the only working Whiskey Distillery in Dublin. There were at one time 37 Whiskey Distilleries in Dublin most were located in Dublin's Liberties. The Spirit of Dublin is a craft revival as Walter Teeling began Distilling Whiskey in the Liberties in 1782. The original Distillery was based in nearby Marrowbone Lane and commenced a 230 year tradition of Distilling for the Teeling family.
From early morning and continuing throughout the day a jolly bunch of Teeling Staff were on hand to meet and greet the visitors from the Dublin Sight Seeing Tour Buses. All visitors who alighted the bus at stop number 12A which is adjacent to the Teeling Distillery were treated to free admission, to celebrating the inaugural first day of the new Bus Service.
Staff from the Green Bus were very enthusiastic about the new Teeling Visitor Centre and agreed that it was a great addition to their itinerary. The Green Bus was established in 1987 by Dublin Bus which is the main public transport company in Dublin. It is a subsidiary of C.I.E. which is the state owned transport company. Dublin Bus carries over 500,000 passengers a day on its core services and offers Dublin Sightseeing tours on a daily basis.
The feed back was excellent from the many visitors who travelled by Green Bus today, Teeling staff were very attentive to their need of their visitors and continue to request feedback directly or through Trip Advisor.
