‘Laethanta Saoire’ is a tune that was composed in the 90s by the legendary guitarist Steve Cooney, and although the band have played it many times it has never been recorded or released… until now that is! Windmill Lane Studios..the Spiritual Home of U2 The Mecca that was the Graffiti Walls that surrounded the Windmill Lane Studio were once artists including U2 recorded many hit records have been demolished. Once a pilgrimage site for visiting U2 fan when in Dublin, it was customary to pay homage at the Wall! But progress has demolished the Walls! |

Goldenbridge Cemetery Inchicore Dublin.

Hidden away in a secluded site adjacent to the Grand canal in Inchicore, the 19th century ‘garden’ cemetery at Goldenbridge was the first Catholic cemetery to be laid out after the passing of the 'Act of Easement of Burial Bills' in the early 1800's.
Before the passing of the bill Roman Catholics living in Dublin City had no cemetery to bury the remains of their dead. By Law all burials could only take place in Protestant churchyards with fee’s been paid to the relevant pastor and no prayers could be recited. In 1823 Daniel O’Connell campaigned to change this situation, his goal was to acquire land were Catholics could be buried free and without any harassment. In the middle 1828 the Catholic Association purchased 3 acres of land 2 miles from the City of Dublin for the sum of £600 from Mathais O’Kelly. The Cemetery is now open to the public after may years of been a forgotten Dublin Graveyard. |
